LDA project workshop, NOA Penteli on June 27, 2013

HAMAC is participating in a european research funding project that implements a wide range of displaying innovative solutions and services over mobile devices, based on the GMES (Global Monitoring for Environment and Security) and GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System – Galileo) systems.

Project’s title: Large-scale demonstrators in support of GMES and GNSS based services (LDA)

Partners of the project :
Co-ordinator:
GRNET – Greek Research and Technology Network
Partners:
NOA – National Observatory of Athens (Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications & Remote Sensing)
HEMCO – Hellenic Mapping and Cadastral Association (subcontractor:  Hellenic Cadastre – Ktimatologio)
ATLANTIS consulting
HAMAC – Hellenic Association of Mobile Application Companies

At this stage, HAMAC, in cooperation with NOA organized a workshop at NOA’s premises, Penteli, on Thursday,  June 27th at 15:00, where the consortium presented the participants the project concept,  while HAMAC members  had the opportunity to discuss their ideas regarding GMES/GNESS enabled geolocation services.

According to the contract, HAMAC will announce a call for proposals via the project’s website (under construction by GRNET), where the best proposals will be selected and supported by HAMAC so that they can adapt and integrate the services to the project platform and participate in the demonstration.
For the implementation and show of the services, the members of the consortium will provide:
  • cloud computing  services (from GRNET )
  • wide range of spatial data, geodetic and mapping coverage in high analysis  (from HEMCO)
  • satellite data and elaborating algorithms (from NOA)
At the end of this workshop, all participants had the opportunity for a brief tour at NOA’s facilities.
You will be informed shortly of all necessary steps to be followed.
